Oct. 29, 2021

South Windsor Soccer Club hosted one of the largest Soccer tournaments this past weekend with 114 teams from all over New England. It was a wonderful weekend that surpassed expectations and hosted well above their expected attendance. We welcomed 9000 people in the park over two days for 228 youth soccer games at Rye Street Park in South Windsor. Soccer wasn’t the only thing happening this weekend at the tournament… The South Windsor travel teams also competed to raise over 600 non-perishable items to help families in their community at this tournament. Christopher Mead, the Soccer club Community Director, as well as Jennifer McLennan, the Tournament Director delivered the food to the South Windsor Food Bank Wednesday in time for the upcoming holiday season. President Gary Schoedler says “This weekend was by far one of our best turnouts as a soccer club, and it makes me proud that our kids took the time to help their community with such a generous donation of food”
