South Windsor Stays In Top 5 of Weekly Baseball Poll

The Bobcats won 16 of their first 18 contests to rank among the top high school teams in Connecticut.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A heartbreaking 1-0 loss to East Hartford last week dropped South Windsor High School down a bit, but the Bobcats still are ranked among the top five baseball teams in Connecticut in the latest weekly poll of state sports media.

South Windsor (16-2), which placed fifth in the most recent balloting, is scheduled to conclude its regular season schedule Wednesday afternoon at Glastonbury.

Fairfield Prep (19-1) was once again the unanimous top pick of voters.

Here are the top 10 ranked teams in Connecticut, as well as all other programs receiving votes, with records through Sunday, May 20.

    6. Ridgefield (16-4)

Also receiving votes: Amity Regional (14-5), Newtown (15-4), Granby Memorial (17-2), Shepaug Valley (18-1), Haddam-Killingworth (12-2), East Hartford (14-4), Wolcott (17-3), Montville (14-5), Darien (14-6), Plainfield (15-4).
