South Windsor Stop Near McDonald’s Leads To Seizure Of Drugs, Cash: Police

A search of the vehicle turned up 641 glassine bags, including one that tested presumptively positive for heroin/fentanyl, police say.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Two people are facing drug charges after a traffic stop in South Windsor ended in a McDonald’s parking lot, according to police.

Police said Cindy G. Guzman, 48, of Broad Brook, and Kristyn Tarantino, 50, of South Windsor, were arrested Monday evening after officers pulled over a vehicle near Buckland Road and Chapel Road.

According to South Windsor police, officers saw the vehicle drift out of its lane around 6:02 p.m. The car then pulled into the McDonald’s parking lot at 769 John Fitch Blvd.

Police said officers saw a rock-like substance they believe was crack cocaine fall from Guzman’s lap to the side step area of the vehicle. A police dog later alerted officers to the vehicle, leading to a search, police said.

During that search, police said they found 641 glassine bags, including one that tested positive in a preliminary test for heroin and fentanyl. Police also reported finding 1.78 grams of cocaine, 0.52 grams of crack, nine Adderall capsules, plastic and glass straws, and $232 in cash.

Guzman was released on a $10,000 surety bond and is due in Manchester Superior Court on April 29 at 9 a.m., police said. Tarantino was held on a $100,000 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court Tuesday morning, according to police.
