SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Students in South Windsor schools will get a brief respite from classes Thursday, as an impending snowfall has prompted school officials to declare a traditional "snow day" in lieu of distance learning.

Trash and recycling collection will be delayed a day due to the predicted snowfall, which is expected to reach a foot by storm's end Thursday. Households with regular refuse collection on Thursday will be picked up Friday, and regular Friday collection will be done Saturday.
