This morning I met with other sponsors and with the Scripps Spelling Bee staff. There was a lot of talk about the new vocabulary component of the Bee. While I agree that adding vocabulary knowledge will help the children learn the words better, I still feel that adding it in at the last minute was unfair. It was the computer vocabulary test that was Keshav's downfall. It's hard to study the meaning of words if there are words in the definition that you don't know! But, we're all going to the Semifinals this afternoon at 2pm. You can watch live on ESPN2.
