The South Windsor Public Education Fund is raising funds for grants for our public schools. We were founded in 2006, and have raised over $70,000 in grants for all 7 schools. We have also built an endowment to date of over $45,000. A Green Roof project, CPR training and equipment, artists in residence, document cameras, SMART response systems, Soundfield Systems-these are just a few of the examples of our grants.
Our FUNdraising for this year is a 4.8 mile inaugural walkathon up and down part of Main Street on October 5. Walkers can celebrate the old fashioned way at Heritage Day, which provides families with good clean fun down at Main Street and Ferry Lane.
Thanks to our Signature Sponsor: Ticketnetwork and our other fabulous sponsors, we are starting our day with $14,350. Not bad! We have a walking goal, however of $40,000 in order to purchase a Video Distribution System for South Windsor High School as well as to raise funds for our continuing grants for all South Windsor Public Schools. That's where the walkers come in. We need you!!! AND IT WILL BE FUN!
