Task Force Breaks Up South Windsor Pot Operation

Members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force have broken up a marijuana factory in South Windsor.

SOUTH WINDSOR — Members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force have broken up a marijuana factory in South Windsor.

Last month, task force members received a tip from an "out of state law enforcement agency" about a "large marijuana grow operation" in South Windsor, according to a report.

The tip pinpointed, the 668 Foster St. residence of Glenn Panayotoplus, according to a report.

Task force members secure a search warrant and in the ensuing raid located an "elaborate grow system" inside the home that included lights, ballasts, ventilation systems, filters, timers and paraphernalia, according to a report.

There were 19 marijuana plants that were seized, all in various stages of growth. The plants varied in size from 4 feet tall to "starter plants," according to a report.

Panayotoplus, 46, was charged with:

  • Sale of more than 1 kilo of marijuana
  • Cultivation of marijuana
  • Operating a drug factory

A 17-year-old male was also arrested during this investigation for the same charges, police said.
