That first phase includes a full roof replacement, new locker rooms, sports medicine space, a recruiting lounge, a coaches’ lounge and conference room, and new grab-and-go concession areas. UConn said the broader project is being funded through $99.4 million in non-tax revenue raised through UConn 2000 bonds.
UConn first unveiled The Gampel Collection on March 11, describing it as a way for fans to buy authenticated pieces removed directly from the arena. The university said new auction and instant-purchase items would continue dropping through March and April.
Fans can already shop items online through CollectUConn while they wait for the South Windsor pop-up to open. The store is expected to give shoppers a chance to browse pieces of UConn basketball history in person.
The Gampel Collection is listed on Evergreen Walk’s current shop directory, and UConn officially launched the memorabilia campaign on March 11. UConn also announced March 24 that Phase 1 of the Gampel Pavilion renovation is underway and expected to run through November 2026.
