Walk It Off in South Windsor

South Windsor Walk and Wheel Ways wants to encourage our town to walk and bike more, and do it more safely, too!  Our town is a bicycle friendly community but also has a strong base of walkers.

We've worked on a sidewalk plan, and continue to work on ways people can walk more and connect to their neighborhoods, as well as parks, stores, schools and other community buildings.

Walking is a great way to experience the town, and helps you get, and stay healthy at the same time.  This is a great time of year to walk and there are some great, safe places to do it.  Nevers Park continues to be walk central, with trails, and plenty of other activities to make your walk an interesting one.  Watch a baseball game, and finish with a walk around the trail.  Stop at the Boundless Playground, or Dog Park.

Other great places to walk are Major Michael Donnelly Land Preserve, Wapping Park, The Wildlife Sanctuary, and there are many more.   Start off with a walk in your neighborhood and get to meet your neighbors.
