WEATHER UPDATE: South Windsor's Stormy Weekend Forecast

We had been on a roll of having gorgeous weather weekends for the past six weeks or so, but that is about to change somewhat this weekend.

It’s not a complete washout as Saturday is definitely the best weather day of the weekend.

In reality, the best weather is forecast for Friday with sunny skies and temps in the high 70s in southern Connecticut and into the mid-80s in the northern part of the state.

For Saturday, showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon hours along the southern half of the state, while there appears to be no rain threat in the northern half of the state on Saturday.

Plenty of sun is also forecast for Saturday with highs between 77-83 in Connecticut with cooler temps at the Shoreline.

On Saturday night, thunderstorms are possible for the entire state and that carries over into Sunday.

Fog may also be an issue late Saturday/early Sunday and then it will be cloudy all day on Sunday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and evening.

Up to a half inch of rain is possible.

This Afternoon: High near 86.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. Northeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 65 by 5pm. South wind 6 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 64. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 73. South wind 10 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 10pm. Cloudy, with a low around 50. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
