Winter Team State Championship History: South Windsor
South Windsor High School teams have won five state titles in winters past, while its predecessor, Ellsworth, won seven.
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — As practices for high school winter sports officially get underway Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.
To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of the five CIAC winter team titles won by South Windsor High School in past years, as well as the seven won by its predecessor, Ellsworth High School (* - indicates a co-op team).
