STAFFORD, CT — It was certainly Independence Day Saturday for a group of duckings that became trapped in a storm drain in Stafford.
That's right, Stafford Animal Control wasn't about to sit tight and enjoy the long holiday weekend when the distress call came in.
And the rescue mission was first-thing, too.
"We had an early morning call for some ducklings stuck in a storm drain in Cooper Lane," Animal Control officials said. "We were able to get them all out safely and reunited with mama duck."
And all seemed happy while wadding off into the sunrise.
