Car Heads Wrong Way For A Mile After Medical Crisis In Stafford: State Police

STAFFORD, CT — A vehicle hit a pole after the driver suffered "a medical event" in Stafford on Friday evening, state police said.

According to a state police crash report, a 2010 Volvo S40 was heading north on the 200 block of Monson Road when the medical incident caused the 61-year-old driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The vehicle was heading the wrong way for a mile before it crashed, according to the report.

The driver, Stafford woman, was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital after the crash, state police said. The "medical episode" was not defined in the report.
