STAFFORD, CT — From a $156,750 fixer on East Street to a $482,500 colonial on Hillcrest Drive, Stafford's real estate market has traded across a wide range over the past several weeks.
Five homes sold in Stafford between July 27 and Sept. 9, with a top price of $482,500, according to Zillow.com.
The most recent closing in this batch is 143 Monson Road, which sold Sept. 9 for $308,000. The three-bedroom, two-bath home offers 1,907 square feet of living space on a 0.92-acre lot, at $161.51 per square foot.
The top price of the five belongs to 12 Hillcrest Drive, which sold Sept. 1 for $482,500. The three-bedroom, three-bath home spans 1,600 square feet on a 1.16-acre lot, at $301.56 per square foot.
24 Dunay Road sold Aug. 5 for $442,000. The four-bedroom, two-bath home offers 1,902 square feet on a 0.87-acre lot, at $232.39 per square foot.
6 Buckley Highway sold July 29 for $430,000. The four-bedroom, three-bath home offers 1,760 square feet on a one-acre lot, at $244.32 per square foot.
Rounding out the batch, 150 East St. sold July 27 for $156,750. The two-bedroom, one-bath home offers 1,188 square feet on a 10,018-square-foot lot, at $131.94 per square foot — the lowest price and the lowest per-square-foot rate of the five.
What this says about the Stafford market: Four-bedroom and three-bedroom homes alike sold across this batch, but the two smallest homes by square footage, on East Street and Hillcrest Drive, landed at opposite ends of the price spectrum entirely — a reminder that lot size and bedroom count aren't the whole story here.
