STAFFORD, CT — Johnson Memorial Hospital has been reaccredited as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by The Joint Commission following a recent survey of the hospital's stroke care program.
The reaccreditation recognizes the hospital's stroke-focused program and its efforts to provide coordinated care for stroke patients.
During the survey, The Joint Commission team highlighted several aspects of Johnson's stroke program, including physician and administrative leadership, community outreach and collaboration with emergency medical services partners.
"This review is an important validation of the quality of care we provide to our patients and community," Lindsey Gamble, MSN, RN, vice president of patient care services and operations and chief nursing officer at Johnson Memorial Hospital, said in a statement.
Gamble also credited hospital departments and staff members who participated in education, preparation activities, survey discussions and other activities related to the review.
The Joint Commission is an independent organization that accredits and certifies health care organizations and programs in the United States.
