Around the Campuses - Stafford and Willington College Students

STAFFORD-WILLINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Ten English students from Eastern Connecticut State University participated in an intensive, weeklong Summer Research Institute from May 14 to 18. The institute challenged students to select a work of literature and then pair it with other works and sources to craft meaningful arguments. Among the participants was Riley Bancroft of Willington, who majors in Pre-Secondary Education and English.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

• Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) began its 150th Commencement celebrations with the graduate students ceremony on Thursday, May 10, awarding nearly 830 master's and doctoral degrees. Shane Swanson of Willington was awarded a master of science degree in aerospace engineering.
