Burglar Eludes Authorities At Major Northeast CT Junction

ASHFORD, CT — State police are investigating a burglary at the Route 44 - Route 74 junction in northeast Connecticut.

According to an incident report, at 11:28 p.m. on June 6, state troopers were dispatched to reports of an active burglary the Xtra Mart at 9 Nott Highway.

Before state police could get there, the burglar, wearing a white face mask, fled the scene on foot, according to an incident report. The burglar was also wearing black gloves, a black T-shirt and black pants, according to an incident report.

Tracks by a Manchester drone unit and a state police dog team were not successful, according to an incident report.

The case remains under investigation and anyone with information abouit the incident can call state police at 860-896-3200.
