Car Flies 73 Feet Before Crashing At Stafford Store: Report
A car flew for more than 70 feet after hopping a curb in Stafford, state police said.

STAFFORD, CT — A car flew in the air for more than 70 feet before crashing into a tree in the parking lot of a store and gas station in Stafford, state police said.
The crash took place at 2:27 a.m on Sunday, state police said.
According to a report, a 2002 Honda Civic driven by a 30-year-old woman from Longmeadow, MA, was traveling west on Route 190. The car approached the "Y" intersection with Route 32, but, instead of taking one of the turns, it continued straight, according to a report.

The car hit a curb, was launched into the air, traveled 73 feet and slammed into a tree at one end of the convenience store parking lot at 3 West Stafford Road, according to a report. The Honda took out 50-feet of fencing along the way, according to a report.
A protective post saved a gas pump from being toppled, according to a report.

The driver was taken to an area hospital for observation and no charges had been filed as of Monday morning, state police said.
