WILLINGTON, CT — A luxury compact car took out a large section of guardrail on a section of Interstate 84 in Willington, state police said.

The crash took place Monday at 5:21 a.m., state police said.

According to a crash report, a 21-year-old Marlboro, MA, woman was driving a 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA in the center lane of I-84 west. While near Exit 70, the car suddenly left the road and struck a guardrail, according to a crash report.

The vehicle then took out 50 feet of guardrail and plummeted 20 feet down an embankment, according to a crash report.

The driver sustained scratched and cuts on her back, but refused medical attention at the scene, according to a crash report.
