WILLINGTON, CT — A wrecked car sent out a distress signal, which led state troopers to a suspected underage intoxicated driver in Willington, an arrest report indicates.

The scene unfolded at 5:06 a.m. Sunday, when state police began tracking an SOS signal being transmitted from a blue Hyundai Elantra on the 100 block of River Road, according to an arrest report. Troopers located the vehicle in the Hall Memorial School parking lot at 111 River Road.

The car had sustained heavy front end damage and the driver was passed out behind the steering wheel with his legs "flailing" across the center console, which caused the distress signal to be sent out, according to an arrest report.
