Charges Filed In Connection With Willington Snowmobile Crash
A 53-year-old Tolland man is facing criminal charges related to a February snowmobile crash in Willington.
WILLINGTON, CT — A 53-year-old Tolland man is facing criminal charges after being arrested in connecton with a February snowmobile crash in Willington, according to state police.
William Smith Brooker was charged via a warrant over the weekend with driving under the influence, operating an unregistered snowmobile and the negligent operation of a snowmobile, according to a report.
The incident was on Feb. 18 at 8:05 p.m. at property on Jared Sparks Road in Willington, records show.

According to a warrant, state police and and emergency medical crew found Brooker unconscious and unresponsive and smelling of alcohol.
According to witnesses referred to in a warrant, Brooker jumped on a 1998 Skidoo Mach1 snowmoibile belonging to a friend's son-in-law, drive it for a bit and then slammed into some fencing around a livestock pen.

A warrant quotes witnesses as saying he was seen consuming alcoholic beverages that night.
He did not have permission to use the snowmobile, according to a warrant. That charge was also filed, state police said.
Brooker was not immediately arrested because he was taken to an area hospital after the crash, according to a warrant.
