STAFFORD, — A driver blamed a lollipop for a wild crash in Stafford on Friday, state police said.
The accident took place at 5:41 p.m. Friday on Orcuttville Road neat the intersection with Route 190, according to a state police report.
A 1999 Ford explorer driven by a 49-year-old man from Stafford was traveling southwest when it veered right, struck a mailbox, hit a warning sign about an upcoming curve and then collided with several rocks before winding up on the road again, according to a crash report.

The driver told state police he was "having a coughing fit from a lollipop" right before the crash, according to a report.
A 55-year-old woman was also in the SUV, state police said. No injuries were reported.
