WILLINGTON, CT — A drivers excuse for going 117 mph on a stretch of Interstate 84 in Willington?

She was running late to a concert.

That was the excuse on June 26 after she was clocked at that speed on I-84 eastbound near Exit 70.

After state police pulled her car over, the 21-year-old said she was trying to get to a Chris Brown concert.

The artist was scheduled to play in Boston that night as part of a 26-city tour.

Running late could arguably cause some angst, considering tickets are a considerable investment. Seats for this week for shows in Washington D.C. were priced on Ticketmaster at a range of $147 to $340 Monday on the primary market and as much as $1,600 on the secondary market.

The woman was charged with reckless driving, state police said.
