Flying Tire Hits Car on I-84 in Willington

WILLINGTON, CT — A tire flew off a pickup truck on Interstate-84 and slammed into a Toyota Celica, state police said.

The incident took place at 11:52 p.m. on June 8 on the eastbound side of the highway in Willington, according to a report.

A driver's side tire became "dislodged" from a full-size Chevrolet pickup and hit the 1997 Celica on the front bumper and then hit the windshield, according to a report.

No injuries were reported by state police.
