Icy Conditions Led To Truck Crash On I-84 In Willington: Report
Icy highway conditions caused a truck crash in Willington, state police said.

WILLINGTON, CT — A vehicle owned by a regional supermarket company crashed and took out a highway sign in icy conditions on a stretch of Interstate-84 early Thursday morning, a state police accident report indicates.
The crash took place at 12:09 a.m. as a wintry mix was falling on a base of snow. The truck, skidded just east of Exit 71 on the westbound side of the highway, hit a sign post first and then a large tree off the right shoulder, according to a report.
The cab of the truck was heavily damaged, according to a report.

The driver, a 38-year-old man from Cromwell, was apparently uninjured and refused medical attention at the scene, according to a report.
