Johnson Hospital, Parent Medical Group, Welcome New Acute Care President

STAFFORD, CT — Trinity Health Of New England has named Robert Roose, MD, MPH, as its president of acute care, a role that will give him leadership oversight of four hospitals across the region.

Saint Francis Hospital staged a news conference Wednesday to formally welcome Roose to the position. His responsibilities include oversight of Saint Francis Hospital and Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital in Hartford, Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury and Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford.

Roose has been with Trinity Health Of New England since 2013 and has held several leadership positions within the health system.

He brings clinical experience, operational leadership and familiarity with Trinity Health Of New England to the new position, officials said.

Roose is known for a collaborative leadership approach and works with physicians, nurses and other care teams to identify solutions and improve operations, according to the health system.

Steven Hanks, MD, MMM, FACP, FFSMB, president and CEO of Trinity Health Of New England, also spoke at Wednesday's event.

Officials said Roose's appointment is intended to strengthen operational performance, improve collaboration among the health system's hospitals and care teams, and support the organization's long-term goals.
