ELLINGTON, CT — The resident state trooper's office is investigating a motor vehicle theft in Ellington. The car was taken last month in spree of thefts and burglaries in Ellington and Vernon, state police said. State police did not offer a description of the vehicle, but said it was taken from Grand Boulevard.

TOLLAND, CT — Nicholas Grennan, 28, of Tolland, was charged with failure to keep narcotics in their original container, possession of a controlled substance and sixth-degree larceny, according to an arrest report. The charged Stem from stolen prescription medication, according to an arrest report.

TOLLAND/STAFFORD, CT — A 75-year-old Stafford resident was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital with minor injuries after his 1998 Mercedes-Benz hit a parked, unoccupied tractor-trailer that was on the right shoulder of Interstate-84, state police said. The crash took place on the westbound side of the highway in Tolland at 5:10 p.m., state police said.

ELLINGTON, CT — Sharon Thompson, 51, was charged with second-degree larceny according to an arrest report. A warrant had been issued by prosecutors at Rockville Superior Court, state police said.
