Man Charged For Series Of Beverage Thefts In Stafford
A Coventry man has been charged for a series of beverage thefts at a Stafford supermarket.

STAFFORD, CT — A Coventry man has been charged for a series of beverage thefts at the Stafford Big Y.
Robert Shepard, 41, was taken into custody on Dec. 21, a report indicates. He was charged with sixth-degree larceny at Rockville Superior Court while there for another incident, state police said.
He was charged in relation to a series of thefts involving beer and Red Bull from Sept. 10 to Sept. 15, according toa warrant.

One of the indidents took place on Sept. 10 at 8:52 p.m. Shepard allegedly took a 12-pack of Red Bull valued at $22.99, three Red Bull four-packs valued at $7.99 each, three Budweiser 30-packs valued at $24.99 each and three Bud Light 30-packs valued at $24.99 each, according to a warrant.
He allegedly left the cart full of beverages at the produce entrance, exited the store, walked around to the front and ran into an exit door to grab the cart and flee, according to a warrant.

He allegedly made off with eight cases of beer — Bud, Bud Light, Coors Light, Corona and Heineken — in similar fashion three days later, according to a warrant. That theft totaled $181.92, according to a warrant.
He also took a case of Bud and Bud Light on Sept. 15, according to a warrant.
Shepard was recognized on store surveillance fvrom previous incidents, according to a warrant.
