Man Gets DUI Charge After Strange Incident in Willington Driveway

A Vernon man wound up with a drunken driving charge after a strange incident in a Willington driveway, state police said.

WILLINGTON, CT — A Vernon man wound up with a drunken driving charge after a strange incident in a Willington driveway, according to an arrest report.

Dustin Munsell, 28, who lives in the Vernon Gardens apartment complex on Route 83, was arrested at 10:05 p.m. July 2 at a home on River Road in Willington, state police said.

The homeowner called state police that he saw a vehicle pull into his driveway, according to an arrest report. The homeowner said the driver exited the car, walked around it, but then he lost sight of the man, according to a report.

When state troopers arrived, they found Munsell passed out in the back seat of the crookedly parked car, according to an arrest report. It took five minutes of fumbling through a wallet for Munsell to produce his driver's license, according to a report. He then failed sobriety tests, according to a report.
