Mangled Scooter, Cheap Booze Found At Willington Crash Site: Warrant
State police have released a warrant for a September scooter crash in Willington.

WILLINGTON, CT — A mangled scooter and an inexpensive bottle of vodka at the scene and a subsequent driver blood alcohol level of three times the legal limit were highlighted in an arrest warrant in connection with a scooter crash in Willington last fall.
The warrant was released by state police last week.
The investigation began on Sept. 30, when state police were dispatched to the intersection of Tolland Turnpike and Parker Road for a scooter that had gone down an embankment.

When troopers arrived, they found the scooter operator — a 58-year-old Willington man — on the ground underneath the scooter and a partially filled 750ML bottle of Dubra Vodka nearby, according to a warrant.
The scooter had sustained heavy damage, according to a warrant. Before being transported to Rockville General Hospital, the scooter driver was uncooperative and had a distinct smell of alcohol emanating from him, according to a warrant.

Blood samples taken at the hospital after a warrant was secured via Rockville Superior Court showed a blood alcohol content of .25 well beyond the legal limit in Connecticut of .08.
Numerous "other" substances were found in the man's system, state police said in a warrant.
The driver was charged with driving under the influence and DUI while under suspension, along with registration, insurance and lane violations.
