Pickup Truck Driver Run Over By His Own Trailer In Stafford: Report
A safety check turned into a trailer accident in Stafford last week, state police said.

STAFFORD, CT — The 77-year-old driver of a pickup truck was accidentally run over by his own trailer during a safety check along a road in Stafford last week, state police said.
The Stafford man was heading north on Conklin Road Thursday at 1:54 p.m. when he stopped the pickup to check on the rear trailer lights, according to a state police report.
The man didn't realize the truck was not in park, and it began to roll, state police said. The man tried to jump back in the truck to stop it, but fell out and was run over by the trailer, according to a state police report.

A state police report did not specify the type of trailer it was nor what it was hauling.
The man suffered a "moderate" injury to his pelvis and was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to a state police report.
