ASHFORD, CT — A popular pizza and family restaurant in Northeast Connecticut was damaged by fire Sunday.

The fire broke out at the Midway Restaurant at 11:46 p.m. Ashford Fire Chief Paul Varga told Fox 61 The restaurant will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time.

The fire was contained to the lounge area, but much of the building sustained smoke and water damage, according to the station.
