WILLINGTON, CT — A person was airlifted to an area hospital after a raging fire ravaged a home in Willington Saturday morning, fire officials said.

When they arrived at the scene on Luchon Road, crews from the Willington Fire Department No. 1 and Willington Hill Fire Department encountered a ranch-style home engulfed in flames.

One resident was injured and was taken to a local hospital by LifeStar helicopter, fire officials said.

Units were able to bring the fire under control within an and remained at the scene for some time for an "extensive overhaul.," officials said.

The cause is being investigated by local and state fire marshals.
