Sex Offender In Stafford Facing 12 Registry Failures For Vernon Case
A now-Stafford resident has been charged with 12 counts of failing to register as a sex offender for a Vernon case that dates back a decade.

STAFFORD, CT — A man now living in Stafford has been charged with 12 counts of failing to register as a sex offender for a case that dates back to 2013 in Vernon, state police said.
A warrant was served to 32-year-old Matthew Frazier on May 24, state police records show. In addition to the failure to register charges, Frazier has also been charged with failure to appear in court.
Frazier failed to post a $250,000 bond at his arraignment that day and remained in custody Tuesday. Frazier is scheduled to appear again in Rockville Superior Court on Jan. 9, records show..

According to the state sex offender registry and the state judicial system web site, Frazier was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a girl younger than 16 in February 2014. Vernon police records show that girl was 15 and the offense took place in February 2013.
He was sentenced to seven years in prison, suspended after two and given 10 years probation.

On May 12, authorities filed failure to appear charges against him.
Records show he had previously lived in New Haven, but was convicted in Rockville Superior Court when he lived in Somers. His current address is shown in state police records as 17 Park Street in Stafford.
