A message from the Office of the Town Clerk
Absentee Ballot Information
The Stafford Town Clerk wants to make voters aware that some campaigns have sent absentee ballot applications to many registered voters. Connecticut law allows you to receive an absentee ballot if you cannot appear at your assigned polling location on Election Day for the following reasons:
- Active service in the Armed Forces of the United States
- Absence from your town of residence
- Sickness
- Your Religious tenets that forbid secular activity on the day of the election
- Your duties as primary, election, or referendum official at a polling place
- Physical disability
Applications must be signed by the voter requesting the ballot. Anyone assisting a voter in filling out the application must also sign and include their name, address and telephone number in Section VII.
If you plan on voting in person, and receive an unsolicited application in the mail, simply discard the application. Choose whichever option works best for you. The Election is November 8, 2022, from 6 am to 8 pm. As always, please feel free to call the Stafford Town Clerk's office with your questions.
