Stafford Man Charged In Tolland Construction Zone Pedestrian Collision
The collision took place on an I-84 ramp, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — A Stafford man is facing multiple criminal charges in connection with someone on foot being hit by a vehicle in a construction zone in Tolland.
The incident took place at 9:21 p.m. on May 18 at the Exit 69 westbound on-ramp , state police records show.
According to an arrest report, someone on foot in a construction zone was hit "head-on" by a vehicle. The driver and passenger tried to flee the scene, but were captured shortly after, state police said.

The driver was identified as Joshua Lusardi, 20, of Stafford.
He was charged with second-degree assault with a motor vehicle , reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit, disobeying the signal of an officer, evading responsibility, a construction zone violation, possession of more than 5 ounces of cannabis, and evading responsibility.

His bond was set at $75,000.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, state police said.
The passenger was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of more than 5 ounces of cannabis and interfering.
