Stafford Man Held On $350,000 Bond In Child Porn Case

STAFFORD, CT — A Stafford man has been arrested on child pornography charges, state police said.

At 4:07 p.m. on Wednesday. state troopers arrived at an address in Stafford to serve an active warrant for the arrest of 61-year-old Joseph Lachausse, who was taken into custody without incident, state police said.

Lachausse was subsequently transported to Troop C in Tolland where he was processed and charged with seven counts of first-degree possession of child pornography. He was held overnight at the Hartford Correctional Center on a $350,000 bond, which he did not post at his Thursday arraignment, a clerk at Rockville Superior Court said.

Lachausse thus remained in custody and is scheduled for a second court appearance on Oct. 18, according to the clerk's office.

According to a heavily redacted warrant released by state police Thursday, state police were approached by someone familiar to Lachausse on July 20 about seven videos depicting child sex in his email archives.

According to the warrant. the person also told state police that Lachausse is a self-confessed "sex addict" who spent 43 days in treatment for it. According to the warrant, the person also said Lachausse had a habit of sending images of his private parts to random, "unknown numbers."

The case revolves around the seven images on electronics belonging to Lachausse, however and state police investigators confirmed that the images were collected by Lachausse, according to the warrant.
