
Dr. Joseph D. Knox, 74, of Stafford Springs, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018. He was the son of the late Rev. Thomas Anderson Knox and Nora Rose Knox.
Joe is survived by his three daughters, Kristin Knox Thayer and her husband Gabriel of Stafford, Janna Knox Bardazzi and her husband Stefano of Fribourg, Switzerland, and Allison Rose Knox and her fiancé Brian Fogerty of Sacramento, CA; and his former spouse, Sharon Mullins Knox of Westford, MA. He also left behind five beloved grandchildren: Gabrielle Rose Thayer, Caitlyn Alexis Thayer, Alessio Anderson Bardazzi, Asia Rose Bardazzi, and Giordano Alastair Bardazzi. Joe is also survived by his beloved brother, James Knox of Arcanum, OH, and sister, Norma Stidham of Troy, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Joe was born and raised in Dayton, OH, where he graduated from the University of Dayton and went on to earn a Ph.D. in Electrical Sciences & Applied Physics from Case Institute of Technology. As a highly skilled engineer, Joe worked in various companies in New Jersey, Ohio and Massachusetts, and often traveled to Europe and Asia to showcase his work.

While Joe was a scientist, inventor and business man with several patents and inventions, he was equally talented in his pursuits as a master woodworker, designer and builder. He was also very passionate about the Lake Sunapee area.
Joe was kindhearted and generous, had a great sense of humor, and always had words of encouragement to share. He loved his family deeply, which brought him to Stafford Springs in 2010, where he found a wonderful community. Joe was a faithful follower of Christ and was a proud member of Staffordville Gospel Church, attended weekly Bible studies at Stafford Springs Congregational Church, and never tired of reading the word of God for guidance and purpose.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 6 P.M. at the Staffordville Gospel Church, 375 East St., Stafford Springs.
