Stafford Obituary: Lawrence Guillemette, 89

Condolences to his family and friends.

Lawrence E. Guillemette, 89, of Stafford Springs, Bradenton, FL and formerly of South Windsor, beloved husband of the late Yvette (Maille) Guillemette (2008), passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at home with his family at his side.

Born in Swansea, MA the son of the late Felix and Marie (Paquette) Guillemette, he grew up and lived in West Warwick, RI, and South Windsor before moving to Stafford Springs and Bradenton, FL. Lawrence was the regional sales manager for Amtrol Inc. in West Warwick, RI for 26 years before going to work for Don Regan Sales Corp. in Waterbury.

After his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed spending their summers at Roaring Brook Camp Grounds in Stafford, and their winters in Bradenton, FL. Larry was a very talented and self-taught jack of all trades. He enjoyed spending time at his son’s garage, Larry’s Sales & Repair in Vernon.

He is survived by his children, Lawrence “Larry” Guillemette, Jr. and his wife Catherine, Denise Currier and her husband Michael, Paul Guillemette, and Cheryl Dwyer and her husband Charles; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; six siblings, Gerard Guillemette and his wife Yvette, Louis Guillemette and his wife Catherine, Annette Boivin, Theresa Charron and her husband Richard, Madeline Sanocki, and Ludger “Skip” Guillemette and his wife Lorraine; a sister-in-law, Diane Guillemette, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Fluet; four siblings, George Guillemette, Gertrude Blais, and Paul and Felix Guillemette, and two brothers-in-law, Paul Boivin, and Victor Sanocki.

His family will receive friends for calling hours on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 4 - 7:30 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 22nd, at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville. Interment will follow in Valley Falls Cemetery, Vernon.
