Stafford Obituary: Patricia Dobson, 78

Patricia H. Dobson, 78, of Stafford Springs, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Woodlake at Tolland, surrounded by her loving family.

Pat was born in Brunswick, ME, daughter of the late Dennis and Catherine (Johnson) Haggerty. She graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She also graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a Master of Science.

In the late 1960s, Pat taught English at Stafford High School, then in the early 1980s, after raising two children, she returned to teaching English at Stafford Middle School. She retired after a combined 24 years of teaching.

Pat is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Richard P. Dobson, Sr.; her children, Catherine Charest and her husband Raymond of Mont Vernon, NH, and Richard P. Dobson, Jr. of Stafford Springs; and two grandchildren, Julia and Ryan Charest. She is also survived by her brother and sister, Dennis Haggerty, Jr. and his wife Earla of Clinton, ME, and Mary Haggerty of Brunswick, ME; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Woodlake at Tolland, ECHN Visiting Nurse and Health Services, St. Francis Hospital, and Masonicare, for their care and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs.
