Stafford Receives Grant for Paratransit Van
Town leaders said reducing the financial burden on seniors remains a priority.

STAFFORD, CT — The town of Stafford has received a federal transportation grant to purchase a paratransit van that will expand medical transportation services for older residents, local officials said.
The funding comes through the Section 5310 program, a federal initiative administered in Connecticut by the state Department of Transportation, and will be used to buy a vehicle for the Stafford Senior and Community Center. The van will support transportation for medical appointments and related services for seniors and residents with mobility needs.
First Selectman William Morrison said the senior and community center director has been asked to coordinate informational meetings with state and federal agencies to educate residents about benefits programs available to older adults, including services that may help offset living and health care costs.
