Stafford Resident Charged With Sex Offender Registry Violations

State police served a warrant in the case last week.

STAFFORD, CT — A Stafford resident has been charged with four counts of failing to verify an address on the state sex offender registry, state police said.

Matthew Harrison Elenowicz, 32, of Stafford, was served a warrant last week for the Class D felonies, state police said. He posted a $10,000 bond in the case and is due in Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 28, records show.

According to a warrant, Elenowicz was convicted in 2017 of two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and unlawful restraint, but the offenses were termed non-violent. The sentence included being listed on the registry for 10 years, records show.

Those on the registry are required to notify authorities of any changes in address.
