State Sen. Jeff Gordon Wins Unanimous Convention Endorsement In 35th District

NORTHEAST CT — State Sen. Jeff Gordon received a unanimous endorsement at last night's state GOP Senate convention, where delegates from all 13 towns in the 35th District backed his re-election bid. His campaign also passed the Connecticut State Elections Enforcement Commission's pre-qualification screening for the Citizens' Election Program, according to campaign information provided in the announcement.

The announcement described the SEEC review as a pre-qualification screening for participation in the Citizens' Election Program, or CEP. It said the process checks whether campaigns meet standards for documentation, contribution verification and financial transparency before moving forward in the public financing program.

The endorsement marked a strong showing of support from delegates across the district, according to the announcement. It said the unanimous vote affirmed Gordon's standing as he heads into the next phase of the campaign for the 35th District seat.

"Tonight’s endorsement and the SEEC’s pre-qualification determination reflect the strength, integrity, and discipline of this re-election campaign," Gordon stated. "I am grateful for the trust placed in me and ready to continue building a broad, community-driven effort across northeast Connecticut."

Gordon also said his focus remains on meeting with residents throughout the district. "Campaigns aren't about money and filing deadlines, of course. It is about continuing to spend time with the people I serve, as I have for the past four years, listening to their concerns and staying present in every town and community. That’s how we continue shaping policy that reflects real-world needs rather than abstract theories and speeches."

In the same statement, Gordon listed the issues he said have guided his work in the legislature. "Throughout my time in the legislature, I’ve focused on practical, bipartisan, common sense solutions: addressing affordability concerns, defending individual and parental rights, supporting medical freedoms, strengthening rural healthcare access, improving public safety, supporting public education, helping small businesses, protecting taxpayers, and delivering critical state funds to Eastern Connecticut communities."

He said those priorities will continue if he wins another term. "My priorities remain the same, and my commitment is to keep delivering results that make life better for hard-working people, their families, seniors, veterans, job-creating small businesses, and local communities across our region. I will continue to work for the people of the 35th Senate District. That remains my #1 focus."
