Suspected Juvenile Car Thieves Snagged After Early Morning Crash In Willington
It turned out that a 4 a.m. stroll was an attempt by car bandits to elude police in Willington, state police said.

WILLINGTON, CT — A group of juveniles took a short walk from a crash scene but then took a long ride to the lockup last week in Willington, according to state police.

According to a crash report, at 4:28 a.m. that day, a crash took place near 6 Burt Latham Road. When troopers arrived at the scene, they encountered a 2019 Hyundai Sonata registered out of Meriden with no one inside, according to a crash report.

Troopers then located five juveniles walking along Route 195 about a mile away, according to a crash report. Some were masked, state police said.
The car was determined to be the same that fled police during the overnight period with masked people in the rear seat, according to a crash report.
The juveniles were taken into custody, state police said.
