WILLINGTON, CT — A trailing car sustained damage after a truck tire blew out on a portion of highway in Willington, state police said.

State police recently released a report on the July 17 incident.

At about 2 p.m. that day, a 2026 Hyundai Elantra was heading east on Interstate-84 in Willington, behind a tractor-trailer, a crash report indicates.

The inner tire on the passenger side of the truck's fourth axle blew out and left a trail of rubber behind, according to a crash report.

The Hyundai then hit the debris and sustained "functional" front bumper damage, according to a crash report.

No one was hurt, according to state police.
