Troop C Blood Drive To Again Honor Fallen State Trooper
An annual blood drive is staged in honor of Trooper First Class Kevin Miller, who died in the line of duty in a highway crash in Tolland.

TOLLAND COUNTY, CT — An annual blood drive will again honor Trooper First Class Kevin Miller in 2018.
The event is slated for March 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Tolland Recreation Center, 104 Old Post Road, in Tolland.
Advance registration is suggested and the public can call 860-896-3200 for information.

Miller died in the line of duty on March 29, 2018. The incident occurred in a crash on Interstate 84 in Tolland, Connecticut. Miller, a 19-year veteran of the state police, was on duty at the time of the accident.
The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. on eastbound I-84 between Exits 68 and 69. His patrol cruiser struck the rear of a slow-moving tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer was traveling in the right lane when the collision occurred.

Miller died from injuries he sustained in the crash.
Miller was 49 years old and lived in Coventry, Connecticut. He had joined the state police in 1999. During his career, he served at Troop E, Troop K, and Troop C. Before becoming a trooper, Miller served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was also a Gulf War veteran.
