Truck Driver Ticketed for Distracted Driving After I-84 Crash

A tractor-trailer driver was cited for distracted driving in a construction zone after a crash on Interstate-84, state police said.

WILLINGTON, CT — A tractor-trailer driver was cited for distracted driving in a construction zone after a crash on Interstate-84, state police said.

The crash report on the Aug. 15 incident was released Monday.

At 7:54 a.m. a tractor-trailed driven by a 60-year-old man from Virginia, was traveling east on I-84 near Exit 71 when it veered into the center median and hit a concrete barrier near the Potter School Road overpass, according to a report.

That area is a designated construction zone.

The truck was towed and the driver was issued a ticket for distracted driving in a construction zone and a lane violation, according to a report.
