Willington Man Burglarizes Property After 'Escaping' From Halfway House: Warrant

WILLINGTON, CT — A Willington man is accused of taking a vehicle and other items from a local home a day after "escaping" from a halfway house, state police said.

Brandan Prince, 28, was served a warrant on Sept. 16 charging him with first-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and larceny of a motor vehicle, according to a warrant.

The case dates back to Aug. 21, when a resident complained that several thousand dollars worth of tools and equipment were missing from a home, along with a vehicle, according to a warrant.

Evidence a the scene suggested that the thief had knowledge of the property and the homeowner said it could have been Prince, who "escaped" from a halfway house on Sept. Aug. 19, according to a warrant.

Judicial system records show several convictions for Prince.

State police said in a warrant they then pinpointed Prince as a suspect.

Prince remained in custody this week on a $30,000 bond and is due back in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 13, judicial system records show.
