MANSFIELD, CT — An altercation at a store in Mansfield left a Willington man with a book load of charges, state police said.

The incident took place at 7 p.m. last Wednesday in the parking lot of the Cumberland Farms store at 1660 Storrs Road in Mansfield, state police said.

State police were responding to a complaint about an intoxicated man "harassing" customers, according to an arrest report. The man, according to an arrest report, had driven to the store while under the influence, state police said. He also scuffled with state troopers, according to an arrest report.

In addition to drunken driving, James Horne, 36, was charged with failure to install an ignition device, interfering with police and attempted assault on a public safety officer, according to an arrest report.

His charges also include several motor vehicle violations, state police said.
