Woman Gets Smoking Mad, Fights With Customer and Cops: Report
A Willington woman trying to buy smokes at an Ashford store wound up being arrested, state police said.

ASHFORD, CT — A Willington woman trying to buy smokes at an Ashford store wound up clashing with a clerk, a customer and even a state trooper before being arrested, state police said.
The incident involving 37-year-olf Sarah Caine took place at 8:37 p.m. last Friday, according to ta report.
Troopers were called to the Xtramart, 44 Pompey Hill Road, for a disturbance. According to an arrest report, Caine was trying to buy a carton of cigarettes and began "screaming and cursing," at a clerk.

A customer then intervened and told her to "calm down," but Caine "assaulted" the customer, according to a report. She allegedly assaulted a trooper after state police arrived, according to a report.
Caine was charged with assaulting an officer, second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace and interfering, according to a report.
